Physical and Mechanical Properties of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) Incorporated into Unbound Pavement Layers

Against the backdrop of global warming and depletion natural resources, new techniques alternative materials need to be explored integrated into road construction. Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) is one waste that can reused in projects if its behavior better understood. Numerous researchers have studied use RAP both bound unbound pavement layers. However, mechanical deformation characteristics layers are not fully understood due unique properties. For this reason, paper aims investigate performance construction (base subbase). The methodology used consists two phases: (i) laboratory tests terms physical properties, bearing capacity permanent deformations generated (ii) a comparative analysis test results. tests, material was taken from milling operation section rehabilitated blended with virgin aggregates (VA) different proportions. In addition, sample consisting pure VA as reference for Overall, it concluded admixture feasible meets sustainability requirements structures without compromising strength.
